After dark

A warm light for the end of the day.

Dim it low as the evening draws in. The thick glass softens the warm white light, so the room feels lived in rather than lit.

The blends

Five blends, five times of day.

Each 10ml bottle holds three essential oils. All five blends come in every Founding Collection set.

The Founding Collection

Limited, and individually numbered.

Rather than making thousands and hoping they find a home, we make the collection once it has been reserved. Each set carries its own number, made once and never repeated.

  2. Reserve your set

    Open to everyone from 3 December 2026 until 31 March 2027, or until the collection is fully reserved.

  3. We make it

    Production goes ahead once the collection is fully reserved. If it is not fully reserved by the closing date, every order is refunded in full, to the original payment method.

  4. It arrives

    Delivered within the UK by 31 October 2027, and we’re aiming for September.

How the Founding Collection works

Our story

A few years ago I designed a diffuser in handmade glass. I wanted an object for home that would hold a soft, warm light in the evening and still look right in daylight, switched off.

I have believed in it ever since. It is something to keep, not to replace, and I wanted it made with that kind of care.

So now I am making it properly, as Slow State, with five blends to sit beside it and a collection made once it has been reserved.

What’s in a Founding Collection set?

One ultrasonic diffuser with its handmade glass cover, and all five 10ml essential oil blends. Each set is £295, including VAT and UK delivery, and is individually numbered.

Will the diffuser and blends be sold separately?

Yes, later. The diffuser will be £175 and each blend £32. Together that comes to £335. The Founding Collection set is £295.

Does joining the waitlist commit me to buying?

No. The waitlist is free. You hear first, and get early access, when the Founding Collection opens. You can unsubscribe at any time.

What happens if the collection is not fully reserved?

Production goes ahead only once the Founding Collection is fully reserved. If it is not fully reserved by the close on 31 March 2027, nothing is made and every order is refunded in full, to the original payment method, within 14 days of the close. Nothing more is asked of you. If it is fully reserved sooner, it closes then.

What does the number on my set mean?

The Founding Collection is limited, and each set carries its own number. The numbers are made once and never repeated.

What’s in the blends?

Each blend is three essential oils, listed above. The blends are made for use in the diffuser.

When will my order arrive?

We promise delivery by 31 October 2027, and we’re aiming for September 2027. Production begins once the Founding Collection is fully reserved and closes.

Can I cancel a Founding Collection order?

The full order terms, including cancellation, will be published on the Founding Collection page before orders open on 1 December 2026. Your statutory rights as a UK customer are not affected.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

For now, we plan to deliver within the UK only.
